Erich Jooß, 2009

Erich Jooß (born March 13, 1946 in Hechingen ; † October 28, 2017 in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn , District of Munich ) was director of the Sankt Michaelsbund , chairman of the media council of the Bavarian State Center for New Media (BLM) and author .

Live and act

Erich Jooß studied German, history and political science and did a doctorate in German. In September 1976 he started at Sankt Michaelsbund as an assistant to the management and was managing director of both associations from 1984 to 2011. From 1989 he was the representative of the Bavarian Bishops' Conference for new media. In 1993 he became a member of the BLM media council as a representative of the adult education institutions. From 2003 to April 2017, Jooß was chairman of the media council. Since 1989 he has been the representative of the Bavarian Bishops 'Conference for New Media and between 2001 and 2011 he was an advisor to the Journalism Commission of the German Bishops' Conference . In 2013 he was elected Deputy President of the German Academy for Children's and Youth Literature . In addition to these activities, Erich Jooß, who was President of the Munich Tower Scribe, was the author of many children's books.

honors and awards

For his services, Jooß was awarded the papal New Year's Eve (Komtur) and the Bavarian Poetentaler in 2005 and the Bavarian Order of Merit and the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver in 2006.
