Erlbach has been a district of the city of Colditz in the Leipzig district in Saxony since 2011 , previously the place was a district of Zschadraß .

Erlbach is located approx. 6 km east of the city of Colditz in the valley of the Erlbach , which rises to the northeast of the town and which flows into the Auenbach opposite Lastau .

history

Erlbach was first mentioned as a settlement in documents in 1350 under the name Erlebach . Erlbach was named after a brook that flows through the town. With around 400 inhabitants today, Erlbach is one of the largest villages in the municipality.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Raschütz was incorporated.

Erlbach is connected to Colditz to the west via the B 176 . To the east, federal highway 175 is reached via the same road . To the south there is a road connection to Geringswalde via a district road. On weekdays there is a bus connection to Hartha and Colditz.
