Ernst Adolf Birkenmayer (born March 15, 1842 in Breisach , † March 31, 1916 in Waldshut ) was a German lawyer and member of the Reichstag.

Life

Birkenmayer attended elementary and secondary school in Breisach and the grammar school in Donaueschingen , the lyceum and the university in Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1863 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Freiburg , which later awarded him honorary membership. From 1866 to 1869 he was a trainee lawyer at the district court in Breisach, later at the district court and the district office in Lörrach . From 1869 to 1872 he was trainee lawyer at the district offices of Lörrach, Schopfheim , Müllheim , Offenburg , Oberkirch (Baden) , the district courts of Schopfheim, Engen , Ettenheim and at the district court and public prosecutor's office in Konstanz . Between 1872 and 1879 he was a district judge in St. Blasien and finally a district judge only from 1879 to 1898 in Waldshut and from 1898 to 1906 in Freiburg. From September 1906 he was regional court director in Waldshut. Birkenmayer was a member of the Baden Historical Commission and nurses the same for the districts of Waldshut, bonndorf , New Town, St. Blaise, Schoenau in the Black Forest , Sackingen, Schopfheim, Lörrach and honorary member of the Church Historical Association of the Archdiocese of Freiburg in the Freiburg diocesan archive he posts delivered. He also published a book on the history of Waldshut.

Birkenmayer was a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Baden State Parliament from 1879 to 1887 and from 1891 to 1909, from 1879 to 1883 and from 1891 to 1905 for the 8th electoral district (Schönau-St. Blasien-Neustadt), from 1883 to 1887 for the 7th constituency (Waldshut-Säckingen), from 1905 to 1909 for the 10th constituency (Säckingen-Waldshut-Schopfheim). He was a member of the Waldshut Citizens' Committee from 1890 to 1898 and a member of the Waldshut District Assembly from 1893 to 1898.

He also was a member of the German Reichstag from 1881 to 1884 and again from 1907 until his death for the constituency of Grand Duchy of Baden 3 ( Waldshut , district Säckingen , Neustadt in the Black Forest ) and the German Center Party .
