Ernst Denert
Ernst Denert (born October 11, 1942 in Rumburg ) is a German entrepreneur , computer scientist and patron .
Life
Ernst Denert studied communications engineering at the Technical University of Berlin , where he received his doctorate in computer science in 1975 . His dissertation is entitled PLAN2D: Concept and Syntax of a Two-Dimensional Programming Language . After working in business, he founded the IT company sd & m together with Ulf Maiborn in 1982 , which has now been completely incorporated into the management consultancy Capgemini . Denert was initially managing director at sd & m and then - until he left the company in 2001 - board member . He then took over as CEO of IVU Traffic Technologies AG , which he held until December 31, 2009.
In addition to his work as an entrepreneur, Denert has held an honorary professorship at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich since 1991 . He had previously been a lecturer there since 1986 .
In 1989 Denert set up the Ernst Denert Foundation for Software Engineering . The purpose of the foundation is to promote science and research as well as young scientists in the field of computer science, especially software engineering . As part of this, the foundation awards the software engineering prize every year and in 2000 established the chair for software engineering for business information systems at the Technical University of Munich .
