Ernst Hermann von Kölichen

Ernst Hermann von Kölichen (born January 12, 1739 in Lerchenborn ; † August 7, 1805 in Comprachschütz ( Opole district )) was a Prussian major general , chief of the body cuirassier regiment and heir to Kupferberg , Rosenau and Comprachschütz.

Life

His parents were Ernst Hermann von Kölichen (born June 20, 1688 † June 7, 1772), lord of Siegsdorf, Schmarbach and Lerch Born , and his wife Johanna Charlotte, born of Kottulinksky (* June 24, 1688, † May 13, 1758 ).

Military career

Kölichen came into the Dragoon Regiment No. 2 as a private corporal in 1752 . With that he took part in the Seven Years War . He fought in the battles of Prague , Kolin , Breslau and Hochkirch . He was also wounded near Leuthen and Kunersdorf . During the war was on January 12, 1757 to Ensign , on 24 December 1758 to second lieutenant and on April 14, 1762 First Lieutenant promoted.

After the war he became the regiment's chief of staff on September 20, 1769 . As such, he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 , where he distinguished himself in the battle near Trautenau. But it was not until September 3, 1789 that he was promoted to major, and on September 11, 1789, Kölichen became squadron chief . On October 9, 1790, he became lieutenant colonel . During the First Coalition War , he took part in the Valmy cannonade . In the battle of Kaiserslautern he took 600 prisoners and captured a flag, and Kölichen fought in the battles near Bingen, Guntersblum, Limbach, Eschweiler, Zweibrücken, Wachenheim and Hochheim. On January 7, 1793 he received the order Pour le Mérite for Hochheim. Shortly thereafter, on January 27, 1793, he was promoted to colonel and on February 9, 1793 appointed commander of Dragoon Regiment No. 2. After the war, it lasted until March 24, 1801, when he was appointed chief of the body cuirassier regiment, and on May 20, 1801 he was appointed major general with a patent from May 25, 1801. He died on August 7, 1805 in Comprachschütz (Opole district).

Kölichen married Luise Sophie Johanna von Prittwitz (born November 9, 1750 - March 14, 1789) on October 18, 1764 from the Dammer family. The couple had several children including:

After her death he married Luise Juliane Sigismunde von Gersdorff on October 5, 1795 in Gräditz (* September 12, 1755; † March 2, 1805).
