Ernst Lorenz (politician, 1906)

Ernst Lorenz (born January 4, 1906 in Schöneck / Vogtl. , † June 1, 1963 ) was a German politician and functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . He was LDPD state chairman and finance minister in Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Lorenz, son of a businessman , learned after visiting the elementary and middle school his father's profession. He later worked as a correspondent and sales representative.

After the war ended in 1945, Lorenz joined the LDP. In 1949 he became Ministerial Director and worked from November 1950 to 1952 as Minister of Finance for the State of Saxony-Anhalt in the Bruschke II cabinet . From 1950 to 1952 he was also a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt and a member of the state committee of the National Front . From 1952 to 1954 Lorenz worked as deputy chairman of the council of the Magdeburg district . He then took over the publishing management of the Thuringian regional newspaper . Until 1953 he was also chairman of the German-Polish Society for Peace and Good Neighborhood in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

From 1950 to 1963 Lorenz belonged to the central board (ZV) of the LDPD, from 1951 he acted as treasurer and was a member of the political committee of the ZV of the LDPD. From 1950 to 1952 he was chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt regional association of the LDPD, and from 1952 to 1954 he was chairman of the Magdeburg district committee of the LDPD. In addition, from 1952 he was a member of the Magdeburg District Assembly.

From 1949 to 1958 Lorenz was a member of the German People's Council and the People's Chamber , and was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee of the People's Chamber.
