Joachim Kupfer
Joachim Kupfer (born December 4, 1938 in Plauen , Vogtland ) is a German chemist and politician ( CDU ). From 1993 to 1994 he was Minister of Finance for the State of Saxony-Anhalt .
Life and work
After finishing school and graduating from high school in 1956, Joachim Kupfer learned the profession of chemical laboratory assistant in Magdeburg and then worked as a chemical laboratory assistant in Greiz . From 1959 to 1964 studied Joachim copper in Magdeburg chemistry , the exam was a degree in chemistry and a doctorate to Dr. rer. nat. Joachim Kupfer was a scientific assistant in Merseburg until 1969 and then, until 1984, a chemist in the Leuna works south of Halle . In 1984 Joachim Kupfer became city councilor for local utilities in Halle-Neustadt .
Joachim Kupfer has been married since 1967 and has two children. Today he lives in Halle an der Saale.

Joachim Kupfer joined the Eastern CDU in 1959 and has been a member of the CDU since 1990. From 1984 to 1990 he was a member of the city council of Halle-Neustadt, then until 1994 a member of the city council of Halle (Saale). Joachim Kupfer was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt in the 1st and 2nd electoral periods (1990–1998) . During that time he was chairman of the finance committee and a member of the council of elders . From December 15, 1993 to July 21, 1994, Joachim Kupfer was Minister of Finance in the government of Saxony-Anhalt led by Prime Minister Christoph Bergner .
Joachim Kupfer has been a member of the federal executive committee of the CDU Seniors 'Union and the state chairman of the CDU Seniors' Union in Saxony-Anhalt since 2002 . In October 2008 Joachim Kupfer was elected as one of the deputy federal chairmen of the CDU's senior citizens' union at the federal delegates' assembly of the senior citizens' union in Wiesbaden.
