Ernst Joseph Maria von Radowitz (born May 4, 1869 in Altenburg ; † January 31, 1944 in Stettin ) was a German officer and SS leader, most recently an SS group leader .

Life

He was the eldest son of the future Prussian Lieutenant General Clemens von Radowitz (1832-1890) and his first wife Paula, née Spangenberg († October 23, 1876 in Berlin).

Prussian Army (1879/1919)

Radowitz received his education at the cadet schools in Plön and Groß-Lichterfelde , which he attended from 1879 to 1886. He then joined the 1st Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 31 of the Prussian Army on May 17, 1886 and was promoted to Second Lieutenant on November 15, 1887 . On June 1, 1889, he was transferred to Infantry Regiment No. 135 , where he served as a battalion adjutant.
