Erwin Binder

Erwin Binder (born September 18, 1932 in Groß Godems , Parchim district ; † October 28, 1999 ) was a German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was chairman of the Rostock district board of the DBD as well as a member of the People's Chamber and a member of its presidium.

Life

Binder, the son of a worker, attended elementary school and learned to be a resin skilled worker in the resin extraction company Parchim from 1947 to 1949 . In 1949 he worked as an agricultural assistant. From 1949 to 1951 he attended the agricultural college in Lübz and became a master of agriculture. 1950/51 he was community secretary in Groß Godems. Between 1968 and 1973 Binder completed a distance learning course at the University of Greifswald with a degree in philosophy.

In 1951 he joined the Democratic Peasant Party of Germany (DBD) and since then has worked for the DBD in various positions at local and republic level: 1951/52 he was a political employee of the DBD district associations Parchim and Rostock , 1952/53 first secretary of the DBD district executive committee Bad Doberan , from 1953 to 1955 political employee of the party executive of the DBD. From 1956 to 1969 he worked as a secretary for training and education of the DBD district board of Rostock, from 1969 to 1982 he was finally chairman of the Rostock district board of the DBD. From 1957 to 1982 Binder was a member of the Rostock district board, since 1972 also a member of the party board of the DBD, since 1977 a member of the presidium and since 1982 secretary of the party board of the DBD.

From 1959 to 1966, Binder was also a member of the Rostock district board of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship . From 1957 to 1982 he was also a member of the Rostock District Committee of the National Front of the GDR . From 1965 to 1981 he was a member of the Rostock District Assembly for the DBD .

From 1981 to 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber and from 1986 chairman of the DBD parliamentary group. From 1981 to 1986 he was a member of the Committee for Labor and Social Policy, from 1986 the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the People's Chamber. From June 1987 to 1989 he was also a member of the Presidium of the People's Chamber (successor to Günther Maleuda ).

On the election of Egon Krenz as the new Chairman of the State Council, Binder, as the parliamentary group chairman, emphasized to the current camera for the DBD that Egon Krenz, as the head of state, spoke for continuity and for socialism. This socialism, which is aimed at the well-being of man, has brought many achievements in spite of all problems. The DBD wants these achievements to be preserved and further developed.
