Erwin Grosche

Erwin Grosche (born November 25, 1955 in Anröchte , Soest district ) is a German cabaret artist , actor , author and filmmaker from Paderborn .

Career

Erwin Grosche was probably born on November 25th in Anröchte / Soest district. The exact date of his birth is still unclear. While his mother always emphasized that he was born on November 24th, the father gave the registry office November 25th as the due date. His father was a baker and his mother ran the small town's grocery store. It is not for nothing that cakes and pies are always themes that the small artist describes in his scenes and uses as images. Grosche attended elementary school in Berge before he switched to the classical high school Theodorianum in Paderborn. He followed his brother Heiko, who also awakened his love for theater and art.

Grosche played leading roles at the Westfälische Kammerspiele in Paderborn as a schoolboy and was cast in plays at the Neuhaus Castle open-air theater . His great love is cabaret . At first he performed with his brother Heiko Grosche , since 1980 he has mainly worked as a soloist.

During his school days Grosche wrote poems and songs that were printed in DOM magazine and other newspapers. Paderborn and small town life quickly became his subjects. His friendship with the jazz guitarist Toto Blanke , with whom Grosche records many LPs and CDs, has a great influence on his work . The independent work in Blankes Aliso Studio, which involves tinkering and daring, has become her trademark. The media soon became aware of Grosche. The show with the mouse recorded his songs, the satire festival in Berlin his scenes. The SR employed him as a presenter of the children's show "Stadt, Land, Fluss", the WDR program "Lilipuz" broadcasts his poems. In addition to cabaret and theater productions , Grosche writes books and makes films, for example about Padermann the superhero. His children's books have been translated into many languages. He has now published over seventy books. Grosche worked as an actor with Doris Dörrie , Sven Severin , Margarethe von Trotta and others.

Whether it is the foehn ( "I am the Föhhhhhhhn, I do schööööööön" ), which onomatopoeically awakens to unexpected life, the hymn to "Nivea" or the reflections on the different rain variants ( "the Paderborn one-jet rain" ) , he always gives things a lovable charm that the viewer has not yet discovered. He especially loves sound poems, bees “ssshum” around the apiary and vacuum cleaner rhymes must sound like swallowed letters. The bizarre and subtle also feature in his program.

Awards

Grosche received various prizes, including the German Cabaret Prize and the special price Reif & Bekloppt of the Prix Pantheon (1995). In 1999 he was awarded the Morenhovener Lupe and the Wilhelmshavener Knurrhahn . In 2000 he received the culture award of the city of Paderborn. Since 2003 he has been the patron of UNICEF PADERBORN and since 2009 the ambassador of the “ Reading Foundation ”. In 2007 he received the Peter Hille Literature Prize for cabaret and poetic cabaret , and in 2008 the “ Star of the Year ”. His life's work was honored in 2010 in the exhibition "Westphalian Cabaret Heroes" ( Museum for Westphalian Literature, Haus Nottbeck ).
