European elections in Portugal 1999
The European elections in Portugal in 1999 took place on June 13, 1999. It was carried out in the course of the EU- wide European elections in 1999 , with 25 of the 626 seats in the European Parliament in Portugal . The election took place according to proportional representation without a threshold clause, with the whole of Portugal being considered a single constituency .
As with the European elections in 1994 , the same four parties attracted a: Partido Socialista , the Partido Social Democrata , CDS - People's Party and Unitary Democratic Coalition a. The socialist party with the strongest vote won two seats at the expense of the two small parties. The turnout was 39.3 percent.
