Eutelsat 36 West A is a television satellite of Eutelsat SA (formerly European Telecommunications Satellite Organization ) ( Eutelsat ), headquartered in Paris.
The satellite was launched in 2002 under the name Atlantic Bird 1 . When Eutelsat changed the naming system of the satellites on March 1, 2012, it was named Eutelsat 12 West A according to its orbital position. Later it was replaced by Eutelsat 12 West B at 12.5 ° West and moved to 36.4 ° West. His name was changed accordingly.
