Eveline Krummen
Eveline Krummen (born March 10, 1956 in Bern ) is a Swiss classical philologist .
Eveline Krumme graduated from the Matura Type A . She began studying Classical Philology, German Philology and Music at the University of Bern and the Bern Conservatory , but then moved to the University of Zurich , where she graduated with a degree in Classical Philology and Classical Archeology .
From 1983 to 1987 she worked as an assistant at the Institute for Classical Philology at the University of Zurich. In 1987 she was there with Walter Burkert with the dissertation Pyrsos Hymnon. Festive present and mythical-ritual tradition as a prerequisite for an interpretation of Pindar (Isthmie 4, Pythie 5, Olympie 1 and 3) . Study visits to Cambridge and Tübingen followed . In 1997, she received her habilitation in Zurich with an unpublished work on the conditions for teaching early Greek poetry and on ancient literary historiography . She worked as a private lecturer at the Universities of Zurich and Berne, and she also took over the chair from Glenn W. Most at the University of Heidelberg several times . Since October 1st, 1999, she has been a full professor for classical philology at the University of Graz .
