Eugen Dönt

Eugen Dönt (born May 17, 1939 in Stuttgart ) is an Austrian classical philologist .

Dönt studied, among other things as a student of Albin Lesky , classical philology at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate on July 17, 1963. In 1967 he received the Cardinal Innitzer Prize . After a research stay at the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University (1965/1966), he completed his habilitation in Vienna in 1971. From 1971 to 1981 he was Professor of Classical Philology at the University of Graz , from 1981 until his retirement in 2007 at the University of Vienna. He has also emerged as a Pindar and Aristotle translator.
