The Expressway 52 ( kor. 광주 원주 고속도로 ) is an expressway under construction in South Korea . The highway is to form an east-west route in the north of the country, from Gwangju near Seoul via Yeonju to Wonju . This highway is to form a new route from Seoul to Icheon . The highway is 60 kilometers long.
Street description
The highway begins in Gwangju, a suburb of Seoul, which should not be confused with the city of Gwangju in the southwest of the country. The highway begins at an intersection with Expressway 35 , the Seoul- Daejeon highway . The highway is to run parallel to Expressway 50 north of Icheon via Yeonju to Wonju, where it will again join Expressway 55 and Expressway 50 with a cross . This highway will also shorten the route from Seoul to the east coast.
future
On January 3, 2008, the number Expressway 52 would be approved. Construction began on November 11, 2011, two years late. The motorway is to be opened in November 2016 with the first sections [obsolete] and in 2019 the entire route is to be opened.
