The Expressway 102 ( kor. 남해 고속도로 제 1 지선 ) is an expressway in South Korea . The highway is a junction of Expressway 10 and serves the port area of the city of Masan and Changwon in the south of the country. The route is 18 kilometers long.
Street description
West of Masan, Expressway 102 begins on Expressway 10, which comes from Gwangyang and Gwangju . The highway has 2 × 2 lanes and shortly afterwards it crosses Expressway 45 , which starts here and leads in the direction of Daegu in the north of the country. The highway then runs through the city of Masan, which has about 430,000 inhabitants. Together with Changwon, Masan has an industrial area with a small port. In the north of Changwon, Expressway 102 merges with Expressway 10 towards Busan.
history
The freeway was first built as Expressway 10 in 1973. In 1981 the eastern part of Expressway 102 was opened and in 1989 the western part of the highway was opened. On November 17, 2008, Expressway 10 was moved to a new route north of Masan and the old route was renumbered as Expressway 102.
