Street description

Western part

The highway begins between Iksan and Wanju / Jeonju at an intersection with Expressway 25. The highway initially runs through a large coastal plain, to the east are the mountains near Jeonju. In this area there are steep, wooded slopes and peaks up to 700 meters in height. The motorway runs through some tunnels and viaducts . The main place on the route is Jinan City . The rest of the route is very sparsely populated. A little further east, the mountains are higher, with a height of up to 1100 meters. Northeast of Jangsu, this part ends at an intersection with Expressway 35 .

Eastern part

The eastern part begins at Daegu Airport . Daegu is one of the largest cities in South Korea with 2.5 million inhabitants. Immediately after the airport, you cross Expressway 1 , the axis from the southeastern port city of Busan to Seoul . The motorway also runs through a mountainous area with many tunnels. River valleys that are tributaries of the great Nakdonggang are crossed regularly . The highway runs through Yeongcheon to Pohang , a coastal city of 500,000 people on the east coast.
