The Expressway 110 ( kor. 제 2 경인 고속도로 , Je I Gyeongin Gosok Doro) is an expressway in South Korea . The highway is one of the three east-west highways between Incheon and Seoul . Expressway 110 starts at Incheon Airport and then continues via Incheon to Seoul. The highway is 50 kilometers long.
Street description
The highway begins on Yeongjong Island , an island off the coast of South Korea in the Yellow Sea , where Incheon International Airport is located, the largest airport in Seoul. The freeway begins at an intersection with Expressway 130 , which forms a northern route between the airport and Seoul. Traffic to downtown Seoul is via Expressway 130. The highway crosses the sea to the mainland via the 12 km long Incheon Bridge . This bridge has 2 × 3 lanes. The highway then leads to New Songdo City , a planned city in Incheon. The freeway then runs south along the city of Incheon and crosses Expressway 50 , which comes from central Incheon, and then runs south along the east coast. After about 10 kilometers, the Expressway 100 is crossed. After the junction with Expressway 15 , the highway ends on the southern edge of Seoul.
history
On July 6, 1994, the eastern section between Incheon and Seoul opened on the mainland. The western section, between Incheon and Expressway 100 , was originally part of Expressway 15 , but was renumbered as Expressway 100 in 2001. The Incheon Bridge opened on October 16, 2009 to provide a car connection to Incheon Airport .

future
There are plans to extend Expressway 110 east to Expressway 100 at Seongnam , so that a second east-west connection would be created in the south of Seoul. This extension is to be 21.7 kilometers long, so that the total length of Expressway 110 would increase to 73 km. However, there is still no specific timetable.
