The Expressway 27 is a freeway in South Korea . The highway connects the new port in the Suncheon and Gwangyang area with the highway network around Jeonju , a shorter distance to Seoul . The highway is 118 kilometers long.

Street description

The highway begins on the east side of Suncheon City, where there is a connection to the new port of Gwangyang. Then there is an intersection with Expressway 10 . The highway then runs through a mountainous and sparsely populated area, with only a few small towns. In the city of Namwon is Expressway 12 crossed. At Imsil the route continues to the north, in the east of Jeonju the Expressway 27 connects with the Expressway 20 and ends there.

history

The motorway was approved on December 5, 2002, and construction of the line began in 2003. The construction is a tedious case as the route runs through a very mountainous area of ​​South Korea. On December 28, 2010, the first 66 kilometers between Jeonju and Seonam opened and on January 31, 2011, a second section of 48 kilometers to Expressway 10 at Suncheon was opened. On April 29, 2011, a short stretch of 4 kilometers of the motorway opened.
