The Expressway 45 also known as the Jungbu-Naeryuk Expressway ( kor. 중부 내륙 고속도로 , Jungbu Naeryuk Gosok Doro) is an expressway in South Korea . The highway is a north-south route through the center of the country. The highway runs through the middle of the country and does not pass any major city except for Daegu . It begins in Changwon on the southern coast and ends at Yangpyeong . The freeway is an alternative to the other freeways to Seoul , such as Expressway 1 and Expressway 35 . Expressway 45 is 293 kilometers long.
Street description
In the city of Changwon Expressway 45 begins at an intersection with the Expressway 102 , the highway from Guangzhou to Busan in the east. The highway runs north with 2 × 2 lanes and after a few kilometers crosses Expressway 10 . The highway crosses the Nakdong River slightly to the north and runs through mountainous terrain. As is so often the case in South Korea, there is a direct parallel 2 × 2 highway bridge along the Expressway 45. About 25 kilometers southwest of Daegu , the Expressway 451 , which runs to Daegu, is crossed. Expressway 45 runs west of Daegu to the north.
The highway then runs through a series of tunnels and crosses Expressway 12 , which runs from Gwangju City to Daegu. After that, the highway runs through mountainous terrain to the north and crossed near Gumi the Expressway 1 , the main artery of South Korea. From here, Expressway 45 is also an alternative to Expressway 1 to Seoul. Expressway 30 is crossed a few kilometers to the north .
In the north the mountains are higher with up to 1000 meters, but the highway largely follows a river valley. The motorway has a number of tunnels, some of which are several kilometers long. The highway runs along Chungju City , the last major city on the route. Then the highway runs through a flat part in the center of South Korea. In Yeoju is Expressway 50 crossed and ends a few kilometers north at Yangpyeong .
history
The motorway was approved and planned on April 29, 1992. On September 28, 2001, the Gimcheon and Sangju route opened. In the same year, the section between Changwon and Expressway 451 in Daegu opens. The northern part between Changju and Yeoju opened on December 20, 2002 . On January 16, 2004, a short stretch between Sangju and Sangju-Nord opened and on December 15 this year the part between Chungju opens to Sangju, which was a main route between Gimcheon and Yeonju.
On November 30, 2007, the section between the intersection with Expressway 451 at Hyeongpung and Expressway 1 opened, creating a bypass for Daegu for north-south traffic that previously ran on Expressway 1 and Daegu towards the south coast. On December 28, 2012, the southern and last part of the motorway opened to traffic.
