The FC Teutonia from 1905 e. V. Altona-Ottensen , or FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen for short (also shortened to include FC Teutonia 05 , Teutonia 05 Ottensen or Teutonia Ottensen ), is a football club from the Hamburg district of Ottensen in the Altona district .

History / highlights

The club from a district of the city of Altona , which was independent until 1938 , was founded in 1905 in a standing beer hall by ten people, plus the members of FC Hammonia Hamburg, which was dissolved in 1904 . In 1907 the club joined the North German Football Association with a total of 40 members . The first club-owned course, Hogenfeldweg, was inaugurated in 1910 with a game against FC Friedrichshorst Kiel .

FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen was first class from 1921 to 1924 and from 1926 to 1928. You played in the then Alster District League or the Elbe District League. During the Second World War , the club formed a war syndicate (KSG) with the neighboring club Ottensen 07 , which was quite successful in the cup. Among other things, they celebrated a 1-0 win against the Altona 93 in the same year .

After the war, after a 3-2 win against TuS Finkenwerder , the club reached the second highest league, the then Verbandsliga Elbe (later Hamburg Amateur League). They played here from 1947 to 1952. After that, the club was in the third division until 1956, before disappearing into the lower class until the 1990s. It was only in that decade that the club reappeared. Holger Zippel, who returned to his parent club in 1989, brought the club from the district to the regional league within four years. Since then, the club has established itself, with a brief interruption, in the Hamburg State League (Hammonia Staffel). In the 2016/17 season, Teutonia 05 rose as the state league champion in the Hamburg Oberliga . As third in the final table of the 2017/18 season , the club took part as a representative of Hamburg in the promotion round to Regionalliga Nord , as both the first TuS Dassendorf and the second SC Victoria Hamburg waived. In the promotion round, Teutonia 05 took last place.

Structure / youth work

Teutonia 05 represents what the football historian Hardy Grüne describes as the vitality and cultivation of a myth in Hamburg's amateur football.

The sports field, which is officially called "Gottfried-Tönsfeld-Platz", is also known as the sports field Kreuzkirche or crosses for short because of the neighboring church . Teutonia 05 is a pure football club. The association attaches great importance to its youth work for children with a migration background. A rap CD was created and a booklet with football terms in the respective mother tongues of the foreign youth players can be bought. In 1997 the club was awarded the Uwe Seeler Prize , the highest prize for youth work in the soccer field.
