Fabian Römer (rapper)
Fabian Römer (born January 19, 1990 in Braunschweig ), active under the artist name FR until 2015 , is a German rapper and songwriter.
biography
Römer was active for a while on the online platform Reimliga Battle Arena , where various rappers compete against each other in " battles ". In 2002 and 2003, Römer won 17 out of 17 battles based on the jury's decision.
Through various appearances, such as at the Flava Jam in the Braunschweiger Jugendhaus, he met the producer Champagne and DJ Cut Concept & Onkel Zwieback , with whom he worked on his first album Das Mundwerk . The album was released in 2004 on the record label Rec.On Entertainment and contains, among other things, the experimental title Wetten, dass , on which rusk is also represented. The piece contains 84 rhymes for the word canary . The follow-up album, Der Mittelweg , was released on June 16, 2006. Römer follows on from his title Wetten, dass from the first album by finding 35 rhymes on this word for the title Theory of Relativity . About the album Der Mittelweg , he said in an interview in 2015 that it was "the only album" of his that he no longer liked. It is his “pubertal album” and “the most unreflective”.
The free Mixtape Exclusives , released in 2007, contains all the titles that Römer made freely available on various online platforms between 2004 and 2007. He then released when my album comes , call me one and F zum ABC three more free tracks on the Internet.
In 2007, Römer parted ways with the Rec.On Entertainment label and switched to DEAG Music , which is represented by Warner Music for distribution , for the third album and other upcoming releases . On June 13, 2008, the third album was Caution, Level! released. In 2009 he graduated from the Kleine Burg grammar school in Braunschweig.
His album Wer sind du?, Released on May 14, 2010 reached number 49 on the German album charts.
On September 2, 2011 his album Ganz normaler Wahnsinn was released , which entered the German charts at position 9. Römer lived in a shared apartment with Tim Bendzko while the album was being recorded , after he quit his job in order to concentrate fully on music.
On October 2nd, 2012 Römer celebrated his 10th stage anniversary in the Stuttgart club LKA Longhorn . The concert - his biggest solo concert to date - was published in full on YouTube.
Calendar sheets
On June 16, 2014 the label Jive Germany announced that Römer will release his upcoming album with them. The album Calendar Pages , released at the end of May 2015, is the first of his career to be released by the rapper under his real name Fabian Römer. In an interview he confessed that he had always hated the name FR, which he chose as the nickname for the Reimliga Battle Arena . Before the release of the album Calendar Pages , music videos were published on Zimmer ohne Zeit , Nachtluft , Kalenderblätter , Blauwalherz , Kein Mensch more and The best is yet to come . Römer himself does not appear in any of the videos. The videos for Zimmer ohne Zeit , Calendar Pages and No Man were shot as a trilogy in the style of Kinetic typography . In the song Zimmer ohne Zeit , Römer worked through a childhood fantasy. The only guest post on the album calendar sheets comes from MoTrip . Elif Demirezer , whom he met on Tim Bendzko's support tour , worked as a background singer on some of the songs . He names US rappers such as J. Cole and Drake as well as German singer-songwriters such as Bosse and Maxim as sources of inspiration for the album . The album was produced by the Beatgees .

Songwriting for other artists
Since around 2014, Römer has also increasingly appeared as an author and composer for other German artists. Among his first activities in this regard were the participation of authors on most of Namika's album Nador . In the follow-up album Que Walou (2018) he is involved in 9 titles.
Some of the songs he was co-author of became successful singles, especially the number one hit Favorite Man (2015) by Namika and the song Kreise (2017) by Johannes Oerding , whose album of the same name was awarded gold.
Römer is involved in some of the titles of the number one album Helene Fischer by the interpreter of the same name , which was released in 2017 . The album sold over 1,000,000 copies and was awarded five times platinum.
