Cover

Peter Blake , who created the famous cover of the Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band , was responsible for the design of the cover . The cover of the album shows four pictures of each band member, which were painted by well-known British artists. Seen from top left to bottom right, these were Bill Jacklin , Tom Philips , Colin Self , Richard Hamilton , Mike Andrews , Allen Jones , David Inshaw , David Hockney , Clive Barker , RB Kitaj , Howard Hodgkin , Patrick Caulfield , Peter Blake , Joe Tilson , Patrick Procktor and David Tindle .

There was a poster of the album cover in the album. The first edition of the British version also contained a 16-page book with a brief portrait of the painters.
