Falko Herold

Falko Herold (* 1972 in Mölln ) is a German stage and costume designer as well as video designer and illustrator .

life and work

Herold studied set design from 1997 to 2001 at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts with Erich Wonder . Since 2001 he has worked as an outfitter on various stages for theater and opera productions. From 2001 to 2003 he was a lecturer in the class for scenography at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts.

Herold has been working regularly with director David Bösch and set designer Patrick Bannwart since 2009 . In this team he designed a. a. the costume design for L'elisir d'amore at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and for Simone Boccanegra for the Opéra de Lyon . Herold has also been working as a set designer for Bösch since 2011, including a. for the Korean premiere of "Urfaust" at Myeongdong Theater Seoul and for the French premiere of the opera " The subscribed " by Franz Schreker , for which he also designed the costumes and the video style.

Another continuous collaboration connects Herold with the artistic director and director Hermann Schneider , with whom he has been working since 2006, first at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg and since 2016 at the Musiktheater Linz .

Since 2016 Herold has also been a lecturer at the Institute for Make-Up Art at the Munich Theater Academy August Everding with Verena Eschenberg.
