Farnbach is a hamlet-like district of Breitungen / Werra in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia .

location

Farnbach is located east of Breitungen and the federal road 19 on the edge of the Werraniederung . The place can be reached from Breitungen via a municipal road that continues as a path to Wolfsberg .

The hamlet is named after the stream of the same name that flows through the district.

history

On May 17, 1016, the former farmstead ( estate ) was first mentioned in a document. This first mention is due to a Johann Farnbach . He was the owner of the manor here . After the line died out, it was sold to Otto von Rußwurm and Christoph Hund Wentzheim on Altenstein . After the end of the Second World War , the property was expropriated. 1956 Farnbach was incorporated into Breitungen.
