Felipe Tavares Ramos (born February 9, 1983 in São Bernardo do Campo , São Paulo ), also known as Felipe Mojave , is a professional Brazilian poker player .

Personal

Ramos grew up in São Caetano do Sul . He graduated in business administration and marketing and worked in the financial markets. He is also a passionate musician, singer and guitarist. Ramos lives in São Paulo . He got engaged to the German poker player Natalie Hof in October 2018 and married her on December 22, 2018 in Las Vegas . At the beginning of October 2019, the two parents had a daughter.

Poker career

Ramos plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname mojave . From July 2015 until the end of 2017 he was part of Team PokerStars . Since January 2020 he has been sponsored by GGPoker , where he plays under his real name. Since 2008, Ramos has also taken part in renowned live tournaments .

At the beginning of April 2008 Ramos was successful for the first time at the Main Event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) and finished 13th in Sanremo for 22,400 euros in prize money. In June 2009 he reached with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas at a tournament of the variant PLO final table, finishing in sixth place for almost 70,000 US dollars . In April 2013, Ramos won a super high roller event in São Paulo with a prize of 100,000 US dollars. He cashed twice at the 2015 WSOP , including a. he reached the fifth day of the tournament at the main event and finished it in 136th place for just under 50,000 US dollars. At the end of April 2016, Ramos took seventh place at the EPT High Roller in Monte-Carlo for just under 75,000 euros. In mid-March 2017, he made the final table at the high roller event of the PokerStars Championship in Panama and finished the tournament in fifth place for more than $ 80,000 in prize money. At the end of November 2017, Ramos finished fifth in the main event of the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party in Punta Cana for $ 220,000. In mid-February 2018, he finished fifth at the Super High Roller at partypoker Millions Germany in Rozvadov for his highest prize money to date of 180,000 euros.

In total, Ramos has earned more than $ 2.5 million in poker in live tournaments. From April to November 2016 he played as part of the Sao Paulo Mets in the Global Poker League and made it to the playoffs with his team.
