Military career

As such, he fought during the 1806/07 campaign in the battle of Preussisch Eylau and was wounded for the first time near Soldau . After the Peace of Tilsit , Maliszewski came to the 2nd East Prussian Infantry Regiment as a Second Lieutenant . During the battle of Großgörschen he was wounded again and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. Subsequently, Maliszewski fought at Bautzen and made the transition at Wartenburg . As a battalion adjutant near Möckern, he was seriously wounded by a bullet in his right hip and was awarded the Iron Cross 1st class.

This wounding made further use in the troop service impossible. Thereupon, after his recovery, Maliszewski was transferred to the cadet corps on September 20, 1814 and two months later promoted to staff captain and on June 11, 1815 to captain . On November 27, 1815 he was assigned to the 3rd Department of the War Ministry . Left in this command, Maliszewski resigned from the cadet corps on December 28, 1815 and was transferred to the officers of the army. Within the War Ministry he worked in various departments (including the department for personal affairs) and was promoted to major on April 3, 1820 . As the designated successor to the director, Maliszewski joined the Secret War Chancellery on May 15, 1829, became lieutenant colonel on March 30, 1837 and, two years later, finally head . After around 33 years in the War Ministry, he was appointed commander of the Invalidenhaus on July 8, 1848, with an annual salary of 2,200 thalers. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Invalidenhaus, Maliszewski received the character of major general in 1848 .

In his position he was also involved in the establishment of the "National Thank You for Veterans" and from 1852 published the war club magazine Der National-Dank . He also worked as the editor of the military literature newspaper .

On November 6, 1858, Maliszewski received the character of Lieutenant General and on January 14, 1862 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle 1st class with oak leaves with the number "50" on the oak leaves of the cross on the ribbon. On the occasion of his 25th anniversary as the commander of the house of invalids, Wilhelm I appointed him governor of this house in 1873. Shortly before his death he was given the character of general of the infantry.
