Fever (Eng. "Fever") is the third studio album by the Welsh metal band Bullet for My Valentine . It was released on April 26, 2010.

Emergence

When writing the song for the album, the band wanted the music to be simpler. The musicians were of the opinion that they no longer had to prove their technical and musical skills. In April 2009, the recording of the album began, it was produced by Don Gilmore, who had already worked for Linkin Park and Lacuna Coil .

The recordings of the drum and vocal tracks took place over a period of five weeks in The Document Room in Malibu , California, the rest of the album was completed in various studios in Wales , mainly the Monnow Valley Studio in Monmouth . With a break for a tour, the recordings lasted around eight months until December 2009.

reception

The band had already announced stylistic changes compared to the two previous albums The Poison and Scream Aim Fire before their release . In the opinion of the critics, the musical style of the album is more closely related to the musical mainstream than the previous albums . This is criticized by some reviewers, tolerated by other critics, and praised by others. So there are fewer screams on Fever than on the previous albums, which was sometimes positively received as "more precise use" or negatively.

Some of the lyrics are criticized as being level or “cheesy”. Some reviewers are of the opinion that the album lacks innovations , but do not see this deficiency as a serious flaw . In contrast, the musical accompaniment of the individual pieces is particularly praised.
