Filter is an American rock band that was formed in 1993.
history
The band was founded by Richard Patrick and Brian Liesegang, who both worked with the band Nine Inch Nails in the early 1990s . In 1995 the first album Short Bus was released , which brought the band the breakthrough. 1997 Liesegang left the band and Richard Patrick worked on the next album Title of Record on his own . After separating from Liesegang, however, he accepted other musicians into the band.
The first single, Hey Man Nice Shot , was met with controversy in public because the band was accused of capitalizing on the public suicide of US politician Budd Dwyer . There were also rumors that the song was about Kurt Cobain's suicide , which the band rejected. The play was quite often for movies ( Demon Knight , Cable Guy - The pain in the ass ), commercials ( Bulletstorm ) and television series used, it is, among other things in the episode "lightning" series The X-Files - The X Files played twice . It can also be heard in episodes of the series Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten and Supernatural , as well as during a chase at the beginning and again at the end of the 24th episode of Crossing Jordan - Pathologist with profile .
In 2005 Richard Patrick released together with the guitarists of the Stone Temple Pilots , Robert DeLeo and Dean DeLeo and with the drummer of the band Korn , Ray Luzier, under the project name Army of Anyone, an album that was only rewarded with moderate success.
