The Fischbach is a year-round flowing water in the Karwendel in the area of the Soiern group .

It rises a good kilometer northwest of the Soiernseen at the Ostalfall of the southern Schöttelkopf and flows largely in a north-easterly direction in a valley that is bordered on the left by the foothills of the Soierngruppe with Hohem Grasberg and Pfetterkopf and on the right by Baierkarspitze and Galgenstangenjoch . After a run of about ten kilometers from the left, it flows into the Rissbach about two and a half kilometers south of Vorderriß at the beginning of its infiltration stretch on the lower course .
