The Fischer Choirs are a community of independent mixed choirs from the Stuttgart area , whose choir director is Gotthilf Fischer .

history

Gotthilf Fischer, then 18 years old, took over the management of the Deizisau Choral Society near Plochingen in Württemberg in 1946 . Other choirs followed later and also gave concerts together.

In 1969 the choirs appeared in the television program Drei Mal Neun with Wim Thoelke and became known to a larger audience. In 1971 the first long-playing record was released by Polydor Records , which, like the following, was produced by Hans Bertram , whose orchestra provided the musical accompaniment. There were also guest appearances on television again and again. A milestone in choir history was their appearance at the 1974 World Cup final in Munich . Together with Freddy Quinn , the choirs sang the song The Great Game .

This was followed by a small series on television under the title Sing with the Fischer Choirs as well as several trips, among others. a. to Rome (1976 and 1985), Jerusalem and the USA . On the occasion of the visit to President Jimmy Carter , Gotthilf Fischer presented his composition The Peace Mass , which the choirs also sang on a long-playing record.

In 1988 the Fischer Choirs sang the song of the ARD television lottery Let's sing . In 1989 a girls' choir of the Fischer Choirs took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music with the song Der Natur auf der Spur , but only reached 6th place in the preliminary decision and was therefore unable to qualify for the final. In the 1980s and 1990s there were several recordings of concerts by the Fischer choirs, which were broadcast on the ARD program and on Südwest-Fernsehen. Furthermore, the choirs have repeatedly been guests at various television galas.

In the 1990s Gotthilf Fischer and his choirs at SWR received their own TV series Die Straße der Lieder , in which the choirs drove through the country in an old bus (SETRA bus, built in 1959) and performed their songs at various locations. The show was enriched by many stars of popular music. In addition to Gotthilf Fischer, the opera singer Eva Lind was a permanent presenter for several years. The series was discontinued in spring 2008.

The Straße der Lieder had the following editions (90 minutes each): "The Black Forest", "Lake Constance", "The Swabian Alb", "The Allgäu", "The Neckar", "Palatinate", "From Lake Constance to Basel", "From Rothenburg to Schwäbisch Hall", "From the Zugspitze to Lake Starnberg", "Mosel", "Alsace", "From the Matterhorn to Ticino", "From the Salzburger Land to the Salzkammergut", "From Heidelberg through the Black Forest to Freiburg", "Tirol", "Graubünden", "Bernese Oberland" (May 2005), "Winter Paradise Vorarlberg" (January 2006), "From Heidelberg through the beautiful Black Forest to Freiburg" (February 2006), "From Regensburg to the Bavarian Forest" ( May 2006), “Eastern Switzerland” (June 2006), “Through Vienna and Lower Austria” (July 2006), “From Bingen to Cologne” (September 2006), “Through Ticino and Upper Italy” (October 2006), “Styria” ( November 2006), “From Montblanc to the Matterhorn” (December 2006), “Upper Bavaria - From Chiemsee to Tegernsee” (2007), “Carinthia - From Großglockner to Wörthersee” (2007) and “From Zurich in s Appenzeller Land “(2007).
