Flex Alexander (* 15. April 1970 as Marc Alexander Knox in New York City ) is an American actor , stand-up comedian and dancer .

Life

Flex Alexander was born in New York in 1970 as Marc Alexander Knox and the youngest of four children. His father was a bass player and died in 1989, his brother died of AIDS in 1997 . He ran away at the age of 15 and from then on stayed overnight in subway stations and sold drugs. He stopped doing it in 1988 when his friend was killed by a dealer. He then made his living dancing in New York clubs. Spinderalla, a Salt 'n' Pepa DJ, discovered him and took him on tour for three years. Knox then worked for Mary J. Blige and Queen Latifah . In 1995 Knox moved to Los Angeles to focus on his acting career.

On February 14, 2000, he married the singer-songwriter Shanice Wilson . The two are parents of a daughter (* 2001) and a son (* 2004).

Career

Flex Alexander made his acting debut as a gangster in Juice - City-War in 1992 . He stood in front of the camera alongside Omar Epps , Tupac Shakur and Jermaine Hopkins . This was followed by other appearances in films and series such as Harlem Hip Hop and New York Undercover , Sister, Sister and Money Train . He starred in the comedy series Homeboys in Outer Space alongside Darryl M. Bell in 21 episodes . This was followed in 1997 a supporting role in the thriller City of Industry by John Irvin . He then worked from 1998 to 1999 in the films Ice - When the World Freezes , Santa & Pete and One Like None . From 2001 to 2006 he played the role of Flexter Alexander Barnes in 91 episodes for the American sitcom One on One . Flex Alexander played the King of Pop Michael Jackson in the TV movie Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story , which aired in the USA in 2004. As Three G's he stood next to Samuel L. Jackson in Snakes on a Plane and as Sgt. Jeffrey "Sarge" Millstone in The Hills Have Eyes 2 . This was followed by other guest appearances in the television series CSI: Miami , Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York , Single Ladies and Sketchy
