Flize is a village and a former French commune with 1,174 (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region . It belonged to the arrondissement of Charleville-Mézières and the canton of Nouvion-sur-Meuse . The residents call themselves the Fliziens or Fliziennes.

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Flize , Balaives-et-Butz , Boutancourt and Élan were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Flize of the same name and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Flize.

location

Flize lies on the Maas river . Neighboring towns are Chalandry-Elaire in the north-west, Nouvion-sur-Meuse in the north, Dom-le-Mesnil in the east, Boutancourt in the south and Étrépigny in the west.
