The anti-aircraft missile command 3 (FlaRakKdo 3) was an association of the German Air Force and belonged to the 4th Air Force Division . The command staff was stationed in the Donnerschwee barracks in Oldenburg (Oldb) .
history
The FlaRakKdo 3 emerged from the anti-aircraft missile regiment 14 (FlaRakReg 14) in 1988 as part of the air force structural reform. The anti-aircraft missile squadrons 31, 35 and 36, which were equipped with the MIM-23 HAWK weapon system , were subordinate to him.
On September 29, 1989 the command was given the additional designation “Oldenburg”.
On December 31, 1992, due to German unification and the reduction in the number of troops in the Bundeswehr as stipulated in the two-plus-four treaty , the anti-aircraft missile squadron 31, which had previously belonged to the command, was subordinated to the anti-aircraft missile command 4 , and the anti-aircraft missile squadron 35 was dissolved.
With effect from January 1, 1993, the previous anti-aircraft missile commands were renamed to squadrons, the tactical units not affected by the dissolution became anti-aircraft missile groups (FlaRakGrp). The only subordinate association of the association now operating as the Flugabwehrraketengeschwader 3 “Oldenburg” was then the anti-aircraft missile group 36 (FlaRakGrp 36, formerly anti-aircraft missile squadron 36) in Bremervörde .
Both associations were dissolved on June 30, 2002. The last commanding officer was Colonel Wilhelm von Spreckelsen.
