The Spokane International Airport ( IATA code : GEG , ICAO code : KGEG ) is the international passenger airport of the American metropolis Spokane in the US state of Washington . The airport is the most important airport in the so-called " Inland Empire ", a region that includes eastern Washington, northern Idaho and parts of Montana and Oregon . After Seattle-Tacoma International Airport , Spokane International Airport is the second largest airport in Washington with around 4.1 million passengers in 2019.
Location and transport links
Spokane International Airport is nine kilometers southwest of downtown Spokane. The US Highway 2 runs north of the airport, Interstate 90 and US Highway 395 extend on a common line south of the airport.
Spokane International Airport is integrated into local public transport by buses ; Route 60 of the Spokane Transit Authority regularly connects it with the city center.

Spokane International Airport has a total area of 2,614 hectares.
Runways
Spokane International Airport has two runways . The runway 03/21 is 3,353 meters long and 46 meters wide. The pavement consists partly of asphalt and concrete . In 2010 the runway 03/21 was extended to the south, this section was covered with a concrete surface, the rest has an asphalt surface. It has been designed for Boeing 767-300 aircraft since the last extension . The runway 08/26 is 2,499 meters long, 46 meters wide and has an asphalt surface. It is designed for Boeing 737-500 and De Havilland DHC-8-400 aircraft.
Passenger terminals
Spokane International Airport has two passenger terminals , which are divided into Concourses A / B and C. Concourse A and B form a coherent building, which is only connected to Concourse C via a narrow corridor. The Concourse A has five with passenger boarding bridges equipped piers and is used by Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines used. Concourse B has six boarding gates equipped with boarding bridges and is used by Delta Air Lines and United Airlines . Concourse C, used by Alaska Airlines and American Airlines , has eight boarding gates, but only three boarding gates are equipped with boarding bridges.

The airport control tower is operated by the Federal Aviation Administration .
Airlines and Destinations
Spokane International Airport is served by Alaska Airlines , American Airlines , Delta Air Lines , Frontier Airlines , Southwest Airlines and United Airlines . It is also used by the cargo airlines FedEx and UPS Airlines . Contrary to the designation as an international airport, only destinations in the United States are served, including in particular the hubs of the individual airlines in the west of the country .
