Four Nations Chess League 2000/01

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2000/01 season was the eighth season of the Four Nations Chess League (4NCL).

At the top, defending champion Slough , runner-up Wood Green and the first team of Beeson Gregory , created by the merger of Index-IT and The ADs , fought head-to-head. The three candidates for the title only gave two points each in a direct comparison, so that the board points decided the title, and here Beeson Gregory was ahead. One club was renamed, Bigwood took back the old name Midland Monarchs . The South Wales Dragons , the second team of the Barbican Chess Club and Poisened Pawns were promoted from Division 2 . Barbicans second team reached relegation as the only climber, while the South Wales Dragons and Poisened Pawns together with Richmond directly relegated.
