Franck Dumoulin (born May 13, 1972 in Denain ) is a former French sports shooter .

successes

Franck Dumoulin began shooting in 1985 and first competed in 1989. He took part in the Olympic Games six times : in 1992 in Barcelona he finished 22nd with the air pistol at 10 m and 36th with the free pistol at 50 m. Four years later he reached eleventh place with the free pistol in Atlanta , while he did not get past 36th place with the air pistol. He also competed for the first time - and for the only time - with the rapid-fire pistol and finished 21st. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , he was twelfth with the free pistol and reached the final with the air pistol with 590 points in qualification. In this he scored 98.9 points, so he set a new Olympic record with a total of 688.9 points and was Olympic champion ahead of Wang Yifu and Ihar Bassinski . Also in 2004 in Athens , in 2008 in Beijing and 2012 in London , he entered each of the competitions with the air pistol and free pistol, but he succeeded in any of the competitions finishing in the top ten shooters.

As early as 1994 Dumoulin was world champion with the air pistol in Milan and secured bronze with the free pistol. With the latter he also won the title in Barcelona in 1998. In Lahti, a bronze medal with the air pistol was added in 2002. In 2006 in Zagreb he won another bronze medal in the team competition with the air pistol. He secured his last World Cup medal in Munich in 2010 when he was runner-up in the team competition with the large-caliber pistol.

He is married and has one child. Dumoulin is a cop.
