Frank Richartz (* 1978 in Cologne ) is a German actor .

Life

education

Frank Richartz completed an acting training at the drama school of the Theater der Keller in Cologne from 2000 to 2004 . He received further acting lessons at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York City in 2004/2005 .

Richartz began his career as a stage actor . From 2005 to 2007 he was engaged as a guest at the Westphalian State Theater. There he played u. a. the title role in Heinrich von Kleist's tragedy Prince Friedrich von Homburg (director: Ralf Ebeling ). For his portrayal he was named "Best Young Actor of the Year" in the NRW theater critic survey 2006.

From 2008 to 2011 he was then a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Kassel . Frank Richartz took part in several world premieres at the Staatstheater Kassel, in which he took on the leading role, a. a. in pieces by Feridun Zaimoglu , Benedikt Haubrich (* 1979) and Katja Hensel . In the 2008/09 season he played there in Gustav Rueb's production of Die Bakchen , which was awarded as “Best Production” at the 2009 Hessian Theater Days. In the recital Spiel mir das Lied von Tod (premiere: March 2011 at the Staatstheater Kassel, director: Thomas Bockelmann) he interpreted songs by Rio Reiser and Johnny Cash .

At the Staatstheater Kassel he performed during his permanent engagement a. a. also in the following roles: Hans Schnock / Löwe in A Midsummer Night's Dream (director: Volker Schmalöer ; season 2008/09), Hänschen Rilow in spring awakening (director: Sebastian Schug ; season 2008/09), Alfons the second in Torquato Tasso (director : Gustav Rueb ; 2009/10 season), Stelzfuß in The Black Rider (director: Patrick Schlösser ; 2010/11 season), Aegeus in Medea (director: Gustav Rueb; 2010/11 season), drum major in Woyzeck (director: Markus Dietz ; 2010/11 season), Diener Joseph in The Piggy Bank by Eugène Labiche (director: Volker Schmalöer; 2010/11 season) and in the roles of Saranieff / Grandauer / Metzgerknecht in Der Marquis von Keith (director: Patrick Schlösser; 2010/11 season ).

In 2013 and in the 2014/15 season, Richartz appeared under the direction of Michael Bogdanov at the Hamburger Kammerspiele in the theatrical version of Jetzt oder nie - Zeit ist Geld by Lars Büchel / Ruth Thoma in the roles of Krämer / Kröger / Schnittke / Bruno / Pfarrer and Motzkuss on. In 2017 he was hired as a performer for the production La Reine / Die Königin (direction and conception: Thomas Bischoff ), which brought two main works of lied literature, Les nuits d'été and the Wesendonck songs , to the Nationaltheater Mannheim .

In 2018 he played the leading role in Störtebeker (directed by Peter Jordan and Leonhard Koppelmann ) at the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg . In the same year he was engaged by the Störtebeker Festival on Rügen and was seen there as the Arab warrior Aidan, Störtebeker's best friend.

Movie and TV

Richartz has also played film and television roles since 2011. In the television film Marie Brand and the Song of Death and Love (2012) he played the role of industrial climber Robert "Apache" Muller at the side of Mariele Millowitsch and Hinnerk Schönemann . Also in 2012 he was seen as a serial killer in the Bremer Tatort crime thriller Puppeteer .

In February 2015 he was seen in the ZDF television series Sibel & Max in the episode Parents on Trial in a leading role. He played the club and discotheque owner Pascal, who wants to help the illegal Ukrainian nanny Bogdana and falls in love with her. In 2015 he worked as Ono Osaki in the international cinema production Point Break . In 2016 he played the role of Lionid in the cinema production Plan B: Scheiß auf Plan A.

He was seen as the corrupt Thai police general Adirak Bunriang in the anniversary special of In allerfreund, filmed in Thailand, entitled Two Hearts (first broadcast: October 2018).

Frank Richartz lives in Hamburg and Berlin .
