Franz Bazzani

Franz Bazzani (born November 22, 1972 in Isola della Scala ) is an Italian composer and pianist .

Bazzani studied piano with Fulvio Zanoni at the Verona Conservatory (Diploma 1994) and took private lessons with Leonid Levitsky in Los Angeles. He then studied composition in Verona.

As a pianist, he premiered several works by Francesco Valdambrini , such as Melos II with violinist Isabella Cavagna and Carme with violinist Maria Odorizzi , with whom he also played Daniel Oberegger's Rapsodia tricordale . In 1999 he was commissioned by the poet Sarenco to set four songs to music for the Voix de la Mediterranée festival . In 2001 he took part in the event Arte e cultura nella Verona d'inizio 1900 with the composition Fantasia per violoncello e pianoforte .

As part of an exchange program, Bazzani studied composition with Michael Spencer and piano with Renna Kellaway at the University of Leeds in 2004 . In 2005 he attended the summer composition courses of Azio Corghi and Mauro Bonifacio at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena . He has also performed with musicians such as Luca Olivieri , Bobby Solo , Bruno Marini , James Burton , Jerry Donahue , Tommy Emmanuel , John Jorgenson , Alan Thomson and Johnny Hiland and played as keyboard player for the group Viva Santana! at the 2005 Latinoamericando Festival, works by Carlos Santana . In 2009 he took part in the promotional tour for Rudy Rotta's album Blue Inside .
