Franz Xaver Adelmann of Adelmannsfelden
Franz Xaver Baron Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden (born July 1, 1721 in Hohenstadt Castle ; † October 17, 1787 in Augsburg ) was auxiliary bishop and vicar general in the diocese of Augsburg .
Life
First, in 1739 , Adelmann was canon at the Augsburg Cathedral . He was ordained a priest in 1747 , three years later he was awarded a doctorate in both rights in Salzburg and appointed auxiliary bishop there in Augsburg , as titular bishop of Mactaris . He held this office until 1779. From 1757 to 1759 he was also vicar general of Augsburg. During his tenure as auxiliary bishop, he consecrated more than 65 churches.
In 1766 Adelmann was made provost of the Schwäbisch Gmünder Kollegiatstift , and in 1777 additionally with St. Gertrud in Augsburg. He carried out both provost offices until his death.
