Frederike von Stechow

Frederike von Stechow (born November 16, 1967 in Detmold ; † July 16, 2009 in Graz ) was a German actress .

Life

Frederike von Stechow studied at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . After completing her studies in 1992, she played in numerous theaters. From 2000 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Graz . There she took on classic roles in her field. She played u. a. in Blood Wedding by Federico García Lorca , in Platonov by Anton Čechov , in Das weite Land by Arthur Schnitzler and most recently in early 2009 Goneril at the side of Udo Samel in King Lear by William Shakespeare , directed by Peter Konwitschny .

She also appeared in Werner Schwab's play " The lovely dance after the lovely Mr. Arthur Schnitzler's dance " and in the role of Marlene Dietrich in the play Piaf .

Frederike von Stechow played as a guest at the Salzburg Festival , at the Berlin Ensemble and at the Salzburg State Theater .

Together with the director Sabine Derflinger , shortly before her death, she made the film One of Eight about her own breast cancer , in which she described her path and life with the disease.
