The Frühstyxradio or “the largest cultural magazine in the world”, as it calls itself, is a comedy program that was broadcast on radio ffn and Fritz ( rbb ). The broadcast originated on radio ffn, where more than 550,000 listeners followed the program every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Frühstyxradio is thus the most successful comedy show on German radio.

The program was initially broadcast from August 1988 to March 31, 1996 on radio ffn and as a repeat from 1994 to 2000 on Fritz. From 1997 to 1998 radio ffn had best-of broadcasts on Sundays. Frühstyxradio has been producing extra shows on special occasions since 2004, which are broadcast on radio ffn and radio eins (rbb).

The most important members are and were Dietmar Wischmeyer , Oliver Kalkofe , Oliver Welke , Sabine Bulthaup , Andreas Liebold and Klaus-Dieter Richter . “ Siggi and Raner ” also released their CDs under the label of Frühstyxradio. Other contributors included a. Martin Jürgensmann, Jochen Krause, Rainer Jankowski, Karl Schindler, Thomas Springer, Ecki Stieg and Fritz Tietz.

The program das Frühstyxradio was developed by the comedy editorial team of radio ffn. From March 1988 the series Der kleine Tierfreund (Dietmar Wischmeyer) ran in ffn's program . Due to the great success, the program managers commissioned the moderators Dietmar Wischmeyer and KD Richter to develop a comedy concept and set up a comedy editorial team. Sabine Bulthaup and Andreas Liebold strengthened the team. The first joint work was the series DieVierma , an exaggerated representation of the office as a sociotope. In addition to other contributions for the daily program, a three-hour comedy broadcast on Sunday morning (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.) was the central component of the jointly developed comedy concept. This program was named Frühstyxradio and was first broadcast on July 31, 1988 (subject: Live from Interwitz).

With the DieVierma program , the authors went on tour together for the first time in 1990. All events were sold out. The CD released at the same time is also long out of print.

In 1990 Oliver Kalkofe joined the show as an intern and developed the series ffnterprise , Onkel Hotte and Kalkofes Mattscheibe , among others .

In May 1992, the program was temporarily canceled by program director Peter Bartsch because the alleged faecal humor did not fit into the format radio program scheme. After demonstrations by the listeners in front of the station and a large media response (including Der Spiegel , Stern , Premiere , Sat.1 ), the show was re-included in ffn's program in autumn. In the same year the Frühstyxradio label was founded, on which around 80 CDs and DVDs have been released since then.

In the summer of 1993, KD (Asso) Richter left the editorial team. Oliver Welke , who has appeared sporadically as a co-author since 1990, strengthened the Frühstyxradio team as an author and speaker.

In 1993, the Frühstyxradio team completed over 50 events, including in the framework program for the awarding of the Adolf Grimme Prize .

In 1994, on the occasion of the state elections in Lower Saxony, a party called FSR - Freedom, Beauty, Wealth for All and Free - was founded. Premiere showed the TV version of Kalkofes flat screen in its program from 1994 onwards.

In 1996, Frühstyxradio disappeared permanently from ffn's program for the first time. The last broadcast, Die Dröhnung , also appeared on CD.

In 1997 and 1998 radio ffn broadcast another 50 episodes of Frühstyxradio with repetitions of old contributions.

From 1994 to 2000 the rbb broadcaster Fritz broadcast the Frühstyxradio.

On April 1, 1997 , three years before the planned date, on the future site of the Expo 2000 in Hanover, the world exhibition opened in bright sunshine with the official inauguration of the Frühstyxradio pavilion by Günther, the tractor driver. In the same year, the then Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Gerhard Schröder, made a guest appearance on the CD Wir sind die Niedersachsen . In the same year the CD Schröder was recorded, on which he played a few tracks himself and even imitated the little animal lover.

In 2004 specials on the subjects of February 29th, Mother's Day, the European Football Championship and the 14th anniversary of German reunification were broadcast on radio ffn. At the end of the year, the special 1500 Years of Morning Radio followed in November and on Christmas Eve the traditional series Frieda & Anneliese are waiting for the Christ Child . Other programs and specials followed at irregular intervals.

On Father's Day 2005, Wischmeyer, Bulthaup, Liebold and Asso Richter performed live and as an open-air event in Hanover with reinforcement from Hans-Werner Olm and a band in front of about 2,000 spectators.

The Frühstyxradio is also known for producing special programs for the hour that does not exist . The said program takes place in October in the hour of the winter time change between "2 am and 2 am". This tradition was resumed in 2005 at an event in the Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge AG press shop in Hanover and broadcast live on radio ffn. At the event, the audience was welcomed with the popular VW currywurst. In 2006, the hour that doesn't exist in the ffn-Funkhaus was celebrated with a reading by Kleiner Tierfreund. Since then it has been an integral part of radio ffn's program on the night of the winter time changeover.

Since March 2008 the station "ffn comedy" can be received as a web stream. Within the music program, the well-known comedy characters have their say again in several Frühstyxradio contributions per hour.

In September 2008, the show celebrated its 20th anniversary with four Sunday specials and new material. At the same time, the six main authors stood together on one stage for the first time at performances in Hanover and Berlin.

The Frühstyxradio authors regularly continue to perform live in changing constellations. While Dietmar Wischmeyer still works a lot for the radio (including Wischmeyer's Schwarzbuch ; Günther, the tractor driver ), Oliver Kalkofe ( Kalkofes Mattscheibe , SchleFaZ ) and Oliver Welke ( today show ) concentrate on the medium of television.

Series (selection)

Various series were developed as part of the Frühstyxradios, some of which can still be heard today in radio ffn's radio program. The film Der WiXXer is based on one of the series .

Butt cramps

Butt cramps
Identification music: Butt cramp time jingle
First broadcast: 1989
occupation

Kurt Krampmeier and Gürgen Ferkulat regularly visit the restaurant (“Ballerbude”) “Bei Gertrud”. There they order “Bier mit Tzaziki” (“Ballerbrühe”), which Kurt vomits from time to time, and “Alster with strawberry yoghurt”. Kurt is an unemployed road construction worker with a vulgar vocabulary. Gürgen which expresses itself in language chosen is a submissive mother's boy, that of Kurt, among other epithets, especially as "Ferkelwämser" ( Sodomietreibender is called). The ass cramps stand out from other faecal humor-oriented comedy series in that Kurt breaks his failures in lighter moments through strongly philosophical approaches, which he mostly suffocates in a massive supply of "ballerina".

Bad Oeynhausen cops

Bad Oeynhausen cops
Identification music: Theme From SWAT
First broadcast: 1993
occupation

In the series Bad Oeynhausen Cops , which ran between 1993 and 2000 , Oliver Kalkofe and Oliver Welke played the two police officers Robert and Walter from Bad Oeynhausen . A distinguishing feature was the structure in the style of a program trailer with the announcement of a particularly gripping police series, while Robert and Walter's everyday police work turned out to be rather banal and uneventful.

Frieda and Anneliese

Frieda and Anneliese
Identification music: Great God we praise you (song / instrumental)
First broadcast: 1989
occupation

Two old women from the country reflect in their very special way the life in their fictional hometown, which at the time of the early productions was still in the Wiehen Mountains (from which the two actors Bulthaup and Wischmeyer also come in real life); later in slurry , which can be found in the Emsland northwest of Osnabrück . The series satirizes the typical village gossip, the gossip about neighbors and other villagers and is at the same time a homage to the dying species of the typical Lower Saxon countrywoman. The horizon, which is limited to the village and the surrounding area, is quite realistic. The family names used such as Sickendiek, Bredemeyer, Hüdepohl etc. are also taken from real life and are typical for western Lower Saxony. It is also noticeable that the family name or the reference is usually said before the first name in the national language. Examples are: "Hakenschniepels Gustav", "Bredemeyers Marta", "Sickendieks Marianne", "Unsern Hans" or "Unsern Reinhard him his Anita".

Günther, the tractor driver

Günther, the tractor driver
Detection sound: Sounds of a Lanz Bulldog
First broadcast: 1989
occupation
Dietmar Wischmeyer as Günther

Hey, Günther! someone calls and after the obligatory Moin , Günther, the tractor driver, reflects on current affairs and political issues in a satirical way. Of course, current agriculturally interesting topics such as bird flu , foot- and- mouth disease , swine fever etc. are given priority. Political parties are of course not only an excellent target for the political cabaret of the “Philosopher of the Ackerscholle” during election campaign times. Otherwise dealt Günther, who, like Frieda and Anneliese from plate manure comes to mainly take the Ferkelkastrieren and with the tractor and slurry tanker across the field to supply the countryside with its typical odor.

Since there were no funny scenes in this program that Kalkofe could have used, he instead made a bitter statement on the eyewitness video .

In 1994 there was a request from the pay-TV broadcaster Premiere Kalkofes Mattscheibe for television production, so that from April of the same year the TV version of Kalkofes Mattscheibe was shown once a week on Premiere. The radio output of the screen on ffn continued until 1998.

Uncle Hotte's story time
Identification music: Story time theme
First broadcast: 1991
occupation

Uncle Hotte , alias Horst Horstmann, tells unusual fairy tales, most of which are about dwarfs, elves, unlucky ones or film heroes. The main characters in the stories often find a tragic ending. Occasionally Horst Horstmann also gives school essays from his youth, which often deal with his overweight mother and also heavyweight Aunt Vettel . Special features are also the apparently chronic cold, the tendency to aversion to children (snot blotches) or the often faulty grammar and corruption of the language (“sawn, do it”, “however”).

In particular, the character of Uncle Hotte and his fairy tales became well known in the radio ffn broadcast area (mainly Lower Saxony and neighboring regions) and several CDs were released (e.g. Spiel mir das Lied vom Zwerg , Hotte X or Wichtel im Nacht ) . The stories are sometimes introduced by Kassowarth von Sondermühlen ( Dietmar Wischmeyer ).

(Mr.) Radioven

(Mr.) Radioven
Identification music: none
First broadcast: ?
occupation

Albert JJ Radioven appears unannounced and mostly unwanted in various everyday scenes, often transfigured into the absurd, sometimes in TV series, films or other well-known stories. He uses every opportunity that presents itself to reveal the secret of the morning radio , which is apparently so unbearable that most of the victims take their own lives, die by accident or natural death. Further features are the jingle Frühstyxradio - a lot of feeling for the toilet , a parody of an advertising jingle known in the 1990s and Radoven's long drawn out Hallooooooooooooooooo at the end of each episode. Mr. Radioven is a parody of the coffee entrepreneur Albert Darboven .

Willi Deutschmann

Willi Deutschmann
Identification music: German national anthem with new text

The main goal of his tirades of hate is his own wife, whom he dubbed in older episodes with the name “the old woman”, later as “the chunk” or “Satan”. In dealing with his wife, he demonstrates both misogyny and inhumanity in general.
