Friedrich Deppert (born November 25, 1855 in Nuremberg , † July 14, 1915 at Ban-de-Sapt , France ) was a Bavarian lieutenant general .

Life

He was the son of the General Directorate of the Bavarian State Railways Wilhelm Deppert.

Military career

After visiting the cadet corps , Deppert joined the 3rd field artillery regiment "Queen Mother" of the Bavarian Army on August 2, 1874 as porter ensign . Promoted to secondary lieutenant in 1876 , he was transferred to the 1st foot artillery regiment "Bothmer" in 1881 . From 1884 to 1887 Deppert graduated from the War Academy , which made him qualified for the general staff, the higher adjutantage and the subject. During this command he was transferred to the 2nd Foot Artillery Regiment on June 15, 1885 and promoted to Prime Lieutenant. From November 1887, he was employed as an adjutant in the inspection of the artillery and the train. Promoted to captain in this position in 1889 , Deppert came to inspect the foot artillery and was transferred to the Central Office of the General Staff the following year. For a short time he acted from October 24, 1893 to October 9, 1894 as chief of the 6th company of the 1st foot artillery regiment "vacant Bothmer" and was then transferred back to the central office of the general staff while being promoted to major . Transferred to the General Staff of the 2nd Division in Augsburg in 1896 , he was appointed battalion commander in the 2nd Foot Artillery Regiment in October 1897. As a lieutenant colonel , Deppert was appointed commander of the 1st foot artillery regiment "vacant Bothmer" on December 26th. In this position, promoted to colonel on August 4, 1901 , Deppert was appointed director of the War Academy on September 8, 1902 under position à la suite of the General Staff. At the same time he was entrusted with the management of the director of the artillery and engineering school . After his promotion to major general on April 22, 1904 , Deppert was finally appointed commander of the 1st Field Artillery Brigade on September 1, 1905 . In approval of his resignation request, he was put up for disposition on December 14, 1906 and was awarded the star for the Order of Military Merit, Second Class .

When the First World War broke out , Deppert was reused as a zD officer. He initially acted from August 2, 1914 to February 16, 1915 as Chief of Staff of the Deputy General Command of the 1st Army Corps in Munich. In the meantime promoted to lieutenant general in January 1915, he took over command of the 5th replacement infantry brigade with which Deppert took part in the fighting in the Vosges on February 20, 1915 . There he fell on July 14, 1915 at the height of Ban de Sapt.

Deppert had married Anna Grashey in 1888. The marriage had four children.
