Friedrich Ernst von Schauroth

Friedrich Ernst Karl Heinrich von Schauroth (born August 4, 1747 in Coburg , † June 25, 1815 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Origin and family

Friedrich Ernst was a member of the Thuringian-Saxon noble family von Schauroth . His parents were the lieutenant colonel and heir to Geroda, Hohenstein, Liebau, Lützelbuch and Sorketa Christian Adam von Schauroth (1702–1797) and Susanna von Geiß [enf] els († 1771). Schauroth had 10 siblings, remained unmarried and left no heirs.

Career

Schauroth joined the Hussar Regiment No. 2 of the Prussian Army as a Junker in 1762 . He was promoted to cornet in 1765 and second lieutenant in 1769 . Schauroth took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/1779 , was promoted to Prime Lieutenant in 1783 and took part in the invasion of Holland in 1787 , particularly the battle near Amstelveen. He was promoted to staff assistant master in 1789 and in 1792 he became captain and squadron chief in hussar regiment no.11 . Schauroth promoted in 1793 to Major , 1804 to lieutenant colonel and 1806 to Colonel . In 1806 he was commander of the Hussar battalion "von Bila". He took part in the fourth coalition and was wounded in the battles near Schleiz and Saalfeld . Schauroth was released from his position as head of the newly formed 2nd Hussar Brigade in 1807 due to illness. However, in 1807 he received the order Pour le Mérite for his service with Schleiz , but was also set at half salary and finally took his leave in 1811 with the character of a major general .

Schauroth was heir to Liebau after his father.
