Friedrich Siegmund Johann Karl Albert Freiherr Schott von Schottenstein (born May 25, 1812 in Großsachsenheim , † May 20, 1895 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German forester and last forester in the Free City of Frankfurt . He created the basis for a planned management of the Frankfurt city forest .

Life

Schottenstein came from the Schott von Schottenstein family, who were raised to the baron status in 1691 . In 1840 he married Louise Freiin von Gemmingen-Guttenberg -Bonfeld . He died on May 20, 1895 of complications from a stroke . Schottenstein was a bearer of the Red Eagle Order 3rd class with ribbon and an honorary member of the Württemberg Forestry Association. The Schottensteinstrasse in Frankfurt-Niederrad and the Schottensteinschneise in the city forest are named after him. His grave is in the Frankfurt main cemetery .
