Friedrich von Kall

Friedrich Georg von Kall (born July 3, 1742 in the Palatinate ; † November 30, 1809 in Bialla ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Military career

Kall was initially in French service in 1756 in the “Volontaire de Clermont Prince” regiment . On November 5, 1757, he was captured by Prussian troops in the Battle of Roßbach during the Seven Years' War and then employed in the "von Lossow" hussar regiment in 1762 . He fought with the regiment in the battle of Burkersdorf and suffered injuries to the head and elbows. On April 29, 1764, Kall became a cornet and on April 28, 1766, second lieutenant . As such, Kall came to the Bosniak Regiment in early July 1770 . During the War of the Bavarian Succession , Kall took part in the battle near Jägerndorf , became captain and squadron chief in May 1779 and major in February 1788 .

On June 7, 1792, King Friedrich Wilhelm II raised him to hereditary nobility for himself and his family .

Kall was used with his regiment in the campaign in Poland in 1794/95 and received the order Pour le Mérite for his services on August 8, 1794 . In January 1796, he rose to lieutenant colonel and was on May 20, 1798 Patent of 3 June 1798 Colonel promoted. In October of the following year he was appointed regimental commander. In the Fourth Coalition War 1806/07, Kall, now major general since May 1806, led his regiment a. a. in the battle of Jena and Auerstedt .

After the Peace of Tilsit , Kall was given the Red Eagle Order with a pension of 1000 Talers on November 7, 1807 due to age and illness . Due to the difficult situation of the state treasury as a result of the war contributions , however, he only received half of the annual pension.

family

Kall married in 1783 with Helene Christiane Juliane von Heilsberg (born April 28, 1761, † November 18, 1831 in Königsberg ). The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Theodor Georg Friedrich (1781–1813), Prussian major, most recently commander of the 2nd Leib-Hussar Regiment , knight of the order Pour le Mérite
  • Philipp Valentin (born December 31, 1788 in Stallupönen ; † April 27, 1813 near Kahla ), Prussian Rittmeister, most recently chief of the Cossack squadron in the Guard Hussar Regiment , knight of the order Pour le Mérite
  • Friedrich Wilhelm Ferdinand (born March 28, 1800 in Zabłudów ), Prussian Premier Lieutenant
  • Heinrich Johann (born August 21, 1801 in Zabłudów; † March 14, 1853), retired Prussian captain . D.
