Calixt Friedrichkap , since 1863 vonkap (born October 15, 1799 in Plock , † April 13, 1883 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

His grandfather was a regimental trumpeter in the "Holstein-Gottorp" dragoon regiment during the Seven Years' War . Friedrich was the son of Major Johann Christian Cap (1748–1825) and his wife Barbara, née von Korschicka, divorced von Modzelewska (* 1766). His father was most recently in the "Hinrichs" fusilier battalion of the 1st Warsaw Fusilier Brigade.

Military career

Cap studied at the University of Königsberg and joined the 2nd East Prussian Landwehr Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army in 1813 . During the Wars of Liberation , he took part in the sieges of Küstrin , Magdeburg and Rodemachern . He was promoted to Second Lieutenant in mid-January 1814 , was aggregated to the 1st Infantry Regiment on August 1, 1816 after the war and was assigned to February 13, 1818. By early November 1834 cap rose to captain and company commander . He was promoted to major on March 30, 1844 and transferred to the 3rd Landwehr Regiment as commander of the 2nd Battalion. From August 16, 1845 to July 1, 1846 ,kap was in command of the border protection command in Poland. On September 7, 1850, he came to the 32nd Infantry Regiment as a battalion commander , advanced to lieutenant colonel at the end of March 1852 and was appointed commander of the 6th Infantry Regiment on April 15, 1852 . After his promotion to colonel ,kap was appointed commandant of Stralsund on May 7, 1857 , and on June 8, 1857, he was placed à la suite of his previous regiment. He received on 18 September 1858 Red Eagle II. Class with oak leaves and was on 17 May 1859 under presentation of the character as a major general with board for disposition made.

On September 24, 1863 cap was King I. Wilhelm into the hereditary Prussian nobility raised . He died in Potsdam on April 13, 1883.

family

Cap married Natalie Siegfried (1806–1888) on October 14, 1829 in Königsberg . The couple had several children:

  • Gustav Friedrich Philipp (1831–1874), farmer
  • Oswald Johannes Heinrich, Major ret. D. ⚭ Magdalene von Boye from Ellerhoop
