Frielingen is a district of the city of Garbsen in Lower Saxony .

Frielingen is the most north-westerly district in Garbsen and borders in the east on Osterwald , in the south on Horst and Ricklingen Castle , in the west on Bordenau and in the north on Neustadt am Rübenberge and its district Otternhagen .

On March 1, 1974, Frielingen was incorporated into the city of Garbsen.

Local council

The local council of Horst, which is responsible for the villages of Horst, Frielingen, Meyenfeld and Ricklingen Castle, consists of three councilors and six councilors. The CDU has formed a group with the FDP.

The town, which is characterized by agriculture, has a direct connection to federal highway 6 . There are a few shops on the main street that offer residents a selection of the most important goods.

In the old town center you can still find old farms and pastures. In addition to predominantly single-family houses, there are also some multi-family houses.

The surrounding landscape is characterized by forests, meadows and fields and is therefore a popular local recreation area.
