Fritz Rienecker
Fritz Rienecker (born May 27, 1897 in Streckau , † August 15, 1965 in Neumünster ) was a Protestant publicist , pastor and theologian . The multi-volume biblical commentary on the Wuppertaler Studienbibel , founded by him, and the lexicon of the Bible were widely distributed.
Life
Fritz Rienecker grew up in Neinstedt am Harz as the son of a teacher at the Brothers Institution , became a teacher himself and worked in the primary school from 1918 to 1920. He then started studying theology and education at the universities of Berlin , Kiel and Hamburg . He had to interrupt this for a year because of a life-threatening illness.
In 1924 he became editor of the Ihloff publishing house in Neumünster . After Hitler came to power , the National Socialists hindered his activities more and more until he was finally removed from his post in 1941. He switched to the pastor's office and worked as a pastor in Geesthacht until 1946 .
In 1947 he became a lecturer and in 1948 senior lecturer in New Testament and Systematic Theology at the Evangelical Academy in Braunschweig . From 1949 to 1958 he taught the same subjects at the St. Chrischona seminary near Basel . After that he was director of the Old Pietist Community Association in Württemberg until his retirement in 1962 .
In the course of his life Rienecker was editor or editor of several magazines:
- 1925–1941 Take and read
- 1929–1941 On the lookout
- 1949–1951 upwards
- 1951–1963 Bible and Church
- 1952–1964 Reich Gods Worker
- 1958–? Old Pietist community paper
Rienecker wrote several Bible commentaries with a practical orientation; he was the founder and editor of the Wuppertal Study Bible for many years . As a pietist and a member of the Biblical Association , he was opposed to historical-critical exegesis . One of his enduring merits is the creation of the Linguistic Key to the Greek New Testament , which has become a standard tool for biblical interpretation . In 1960 he published the large reference work Lexicon for the Bible at R. Brockhaus Verlag . He did not live to see the publication of his last book, The most beautiful is yet to come (R. Brockhaus Verlag), in which he dealt with life after death.
