The Oberliga Nordrhein 1989/90 was the twelfth season of the jointly by the Football Association of the Middle Rhine and the Lower Rhine Football Association conducted Oberliga Nordrhein . From the Oberliga Nordrhein qualified for the promotion round of Wuppertaler SV , but failed in the promotion round and thus remained in the Oberliga. The Rheydter SV as runner-up in the Oberliga Nordrhein achieved second place in the amateur championship. In the following season 1990/91, the club SG Union Solingen , which was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga only in the previous season , VfB Remscheid , the second representative Alemannia Aachens and SC Brück were relegated to the subordinate association leagues Mittelrhein and Niederrhein . In return, TuS 08 Langerwehe and VfB Homberg rose from the association leagues, while Alemannia Aachen was relegated from the second division to the Oberliga Nordrhein, which reduced the league size to 17 teams for the following season.
